PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal AG Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft (PwC Legal) has provided ZOLAR GmbH, an online distributor of solar energy systems, with comprehensive legal advice on the current Series B financing round of approx. EUR 10 Mio. This financing round was led by BayWa r.e. Energy Ventures GmbH and the Czech investor Inven Capital, SICAV, a.s. Besides its founders Alexander Melzer and Gregor Loukidis, Statkraft Ventures GmbH, TS Venture GmbH and the Danish investment fund Heartcore Capital Fund III K/S, amongst others, are already invested in the Berlin-based startup.
Founded in April 2018, BayWa r.e. Energy Ventures GmbH invests in innovative startups from the entire energy sector that deal with digital solutions, energy storage and e-mobility.
Inven Capital, SICAV, a.s. is a venture capital fund of the ČEZ Group supported by the European Investment Bank („EIB“) with a total fund volume of EUR 240 Mio.
Zolar GmbH offers solar power systems, which homeowners are able to custom plan, compare and order online, at a fixed price. Founded in Berlin in 2016, the greentech aims to equip every home with a decentralized renewable energy system to make people less dependent on the power grid. Thus, the company not only actively promotes the energy revolution but also enables each household to reduce its carbon footprint.
