India: Government introduces Digital Personal Data Protection Bill

The Indian government has introduced a new piece of legislation that frames the rights and duties of the citizen and obligations to use such data lawfully by the organisations. This new legislation is known as the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2022.

The overall essence of the DPDP 2022 is to establish the comprehensive legal framework governing digital personal data protection in India.
